Caitlin Yeo

Composer Caitlin is a widely experienced versatile screen composer. In 2007 she won the APRA-AGSC Screen Music Award for Best Music for a Documentary for her highly original score for Bomb Harvest, a feature documentary about an Australian bomb disposal expert in Laos. In 2008, Caitlin was nominated again for the AGSC-APRA Screen Music award Best Music for a Documentary, for her mystical score for The Last Trimate, a documentary, narrated by Mel Gibson, about the future of Orangutans in Borneo. Caitlin has an eclectic and emotive compositional style. She has a diverse musical background having performed in rock bands, orchestras, gypsy bands and gamelan groups. In 2003 Caitlin achieved a Masters in Screen composition from the Australian Film Television and Radio School.

 

Caitlin also has studied 20th century composition and ethnomusicology at university and trained extensively in classical piano, flute and accordion. Since graduating from AFTRS Caitlin has composed the music for 2 feature films, including All My Friends are Leaving Brisbane, many television documentaries such as Feral Peril, Footy Chicks, Korean Anzac and Playing in the Shadows, The Matilda Candidate and the documentary series called Making Babies and short films.
